The therapeutic benefits of sound and music to soothe the mind and ease our emotions has been well documented. As our knowledge of how the body functions deepens, so our understanding of the therapeutic effect sound has on our physical and emotional well-being expands.
Music helps release tensions by introducing external sound vibrations to the body, whereas your voice helps release tensions by producing movement internally. Resonance (vibration) produced by your vocal cords & larynx, creates an amplifying effect of sound & movement through your body by travelling along the length of your spine via bone conduction.
Your own voice is the most therapeutic 'instrument' you can use to produce sound. Experience the effect for yourself - using a combination of vocal techniques, body movement, Sheila will introduce you to some simple techniques you can use in your daily life that can make a lasting difference to your health & well-being.
'Autophonetics' is a bodywork & vocal technique unique to INNER SOUND which facilitates self-expression and builds self-confidence. Based on 5 elements which promote the release of tensions in the body & form an integral part of this method of sound thereapy.
This is designed as a 'taster' workshop. Full training in 'Autophonetics' is provided by the School for INNER SOUND through their educational program.
